Description: The Guidebook to the World of Dementia is a public project initiated by the Japanese social design organization issue+design, aiming to help people move beyond fear and prejudice toward dementia and instead see it from the perspective of those living with it. Kohei Shimizu was responsible for the project’s web design, which adopts the concept of a “travel guide,” combining illustration and storytelling to create a visualized path of exploration. The website employs a card-based layout and interactive navigation to present sections such as basic knowledge, story journeys, workshops, publications, and community, accompanied by an AI assistant that guides visitors to explore as “travelers.” More than a platform for information, the design offers an immersive journey that balances rational understanding with emotional resonance.
