- 我创作了一个名为“人类世界的拟态昆虫”的作品。那是一只原本停在树叶上的昆虫,飞落到人类世界,在这里它开始对人工物进行拟态,并不断进行新的形态变化,演化为无限的可能。 那么,“拟态”究竟是什么呢?那是一种为了欺骗敌人的眼睛、失去自我个体性、从混沌的环境中避免被捕食而产生的技能。 比如,枯叶蝶会为了融入环境,将自己身体上的花纹变成宛如叶脉般的线条,以及如虫啃痕般的斑点,外形与枯叶几乎完全无法区分。昆虫会因环境的变化而拟态成不同的形状与花纹,这种样貌显得十分神奇且富有魅力。我认为,昆虫为了生存而经历了独特的进化与适应,它们对环境的解读方式,与人类完全处于不同的维度。 于是,我开始想象:如果昆虫生活在人类的环境中,为了生存会发生怎样的变化呢?如果昆虫要拟态成吸管或火柴棒,它们为了欺骗捕食者或人类,会在形态上发生怎样的变化呢? 在具体的制作方法上,我分析了昆虫的形态特征与人工物的形态特征之间的对应关系,并将人工物的色彩与形状融合进昆虫的身体。按照这样的制作方法,我制作了许多仿佛是在人类世界中拟态的昆虫物件。 这件名为“人类世界的拟态昆虫”的作品,旨在表现昆虫的拟态能力与它们的智慧。昆虫花费了长达4亿年的时间,适应了地球上几乎所有的环境。相比之下,人类的历史不过短短20万年,因此昆虫可谓是“生物界的前辈”。在漫长的进化历史中,昆虫在许多方面都拥有令人惊叹的智慧。随着分子层面世界的奥秘不断被揭开,我们会在昆虫的世界中看到一个充满惊奇、不断变幻的拟态宇宙。我希望能与那些能够共鸣的人们,分享我此刻感受到的这种“发现的兴奋”。

- I created a work titled Mimetic Insects in the Human World. It imagines an insect that originally rested on a leaf, but then descended into the human world. Here, it begins to mimic artificial objects, undergoing constant transformations and evolving into infinite possibilities. So, what exactly is “mimicry”? It is a skill developed to deceive the eyes of predators, to lose one’s individuality, and to avoid being preyed upon within a chaotic environment. For example, the dead leaf butterfly camouflages itself by turning the patterns on its wings into vein-like lines and spot marks resembling insect bites, making its appearance almost indistinguishable from a real leaf. Insects morph into different forms and patterns in response to environmental changes, and their appearances are both astonishing and fascinating. I believe insects, through survival, have undergone a unique process of evolution and adaptation. Their way of interpreting their environment exists on a completely different dimension from that of humans. This led me to imagine: if insects lived in human environments, what kinds of transformations would they undergo to survive? If they mimicked a straw or a matchstick, how would their forms change in order to deceive predators or humans? In terms of method, I analyzed the correspondences between the morphological features of insects and those of artificial objects, integrating the colors and shapes of human-made things into the insects’ bodies. Following this approach, I created many objects that appear as if insects were mimicking life within the human world. The work Mimetic Insects in the Human World seeks to express both the adaptive power of mimicry and the intelligence of insects. Insects have spent some 400 million years adapting to almost every environment on Earth. In contrast, human history spans only about 200,000 years, making insects true “veterans” of the biological world. Throughout their long evolutionary history, insects have developed astonishing forms of intelligence. As the mysteries of the molecular world continue to be uncovered, we discover in the realm of insects a universe of mimicry—one that is wondrous and ever-changing. I hope to share the excitement of this discovery with those who can resonate with it.
