- Description
- When playing on a slide, a person disappears instantly at the entrance and reappears just as suddenly at the exit—sometimes feeling almost magical. The true appeal of the slide lies not so much in the movement from top to bottom, but in this very phenomenon of “hidden / revealed.” I analyzed the interplay between light and darkness at a cave’s entrance and depths, the order and chaos embedded in labyrinths, and the verticality of space, then translated the concept of “hidden / revealed” into a rideable form. By distributing, intersecting, and converging these elements in three dimensions, I attempted to reinterpret the slide within a large-scale spatial context. I designed the angles and directions of sliding, the distances and durations from start to finish, as well as the layered spaces of the ground floor and upper floor, where “disappearance / appearance” occurs. This is not a simple juxtaposition of multiple slides, but a composite design through which a new landscape of sliding emerges.
